Protomartyr sees the duo turn their gaze away from the heavens and look towards the surreal world of the microscopic - exploring ideas of ancient gods and the origins of life, but with the band's characteristic human-centric approach. It is the first single from PCPQ since the success of their expansive and operatic album Music for First Contact. Through glitchy beats and a return to a guitar-driven sound, Protomartyr pivots seamlessly from monastic chants to hauntological riffs to squalling noise. Sonically, it's a microcosm of the band's career to date - experimental, ambitious, and deeply human. The track will be accompanied by a self-produced music video and a series of remixes from some of the most talent producers in and around Scotland.
