Ramachandra Guha is one of India’s most famous living historians. He’s the author of voluminous biographies of Mahatma Gandhi, pioneering environmental histories, acclaimed books on cricket, and India After Gandhi, the essential text on modern Indian history. In October 2022, he spent two weeks at Yale University giving lectures, mentoring students, and meeting with faculty. Near the end of his stay, the South Asian Studies Council sat down with Guha to chat about the field of South Asian Studies, history and the future in modern India, and, of course, the game of cricket. Listen now.

Hosted by Daevan Mangalmurti YC ‘24, featuring Professor Sunil Amrith and Professor Ramachandra Guha
