FranklinCoveyEd Wage Theft by Leonie Hall published on 2022-08-18T07:57:02Z This meeting was to discuss my unresolved job description for the retainer post I was supposed to take on. I had already been doing consulting work for FCSA when they asked me to quote on providing recruitment and selection services to find the two people who would join my team, under my leadership. This model was unpacked further at our workshop and documentation was constructed to support it. However, after appointing my recommendation, FCSA isolated and removed me from operations that required engagement with other staff. They use a 'broken telephone' management MO. When I asked them about payment for the recruitment services provided, they respond with a resounding 'No no no!' I lost interest at that point and decided it wasn't worth an argument, particularly after Marlinie incorrectly recalled our initial appointment meeting. We never seemed to move forwards as agreed and they always had complicated justifications for disempowering me. While I'm speaking about our initial payment agreement, when I say '8' I mean 80k, we had agreed on a retainer of 35-40k p/mth. When Marlinie refers to 'you keep saying 'I must do this but I don't have the time' - that is her way of foisting more unpaid demands onto me as she never suggested paying for the extra services. As a discussion on pay was so emphatically shut down, I decided to wait to see what their contract would be in case non-payment for these services balanced out. However, their contract and payment terms, when it came. made it clear they were hostile employers taking care of their own interests at my cost. @1bigleo Genre Business
