Schicki Micki was written for accordionist Franka Lampe, sadly no longer with us. It’s the kind of tune that wears a pork pie hat and a shiny suit, and is never lost for a comeback (not exactly the original German meaning of “shickimicki” but close enough). The second tune began life while walking across a footbridge in Krakow and marvelling at the acrobatic figures sculpted into the cables. Plenty of tumbling opportunities here for the musicians too.
