ÆYLA Josefina Varela Santiago ÆYLA is a Composer and Electronic Violinist from Santiago, Chile. Beginning her violin studies at the age of nine under classical training, she developed an interest in playing alternative styles of music as she grew up, being her biggest role models violinists of all genres. In 2016 she entered the conservatory of the Universidad Católica de Chile, to later study Musical Composition at the Instituto Profesional Projazz, graduating in October 2023. Inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature, ÆYLA creates cinematic soundscapes, driven by violin and electronic music. In May 2024 she releases her first album ''Foliage'', a conceptual project of nature and fantasy that seeks to strengthen the relationship between art and our planet promoting the importance of sustainability in the current climate crisis. ÆYLA becomes a new exhibitor in the electric string community at a national and international level, seeking to bring current generations closer to classical instruments, breaking the boundaries of where a violin belongs and what it is capable of, as well as spreading a message of respect and protection of biodiversity and our planet.
