The Sun, that magical star that provides energy and vitality, aims to hide from us and disappear during the long, dark winter times. Perhaps all things in the universe need a break and maybe that's why it is lost during this period. But just a little frame of time, cause he always come back to shine more than ever.
Fronted by Bradley Lucke and Mark Crooks, UK collective Statues has definitely established in the MM Discos family signing the last release by doing a very special tribute to the sun.
"Lost Star EP" is lysergic, melancholic and dreamy. Starting far away, light years away from us with the cosmic, repetitive and ascending rhythms of "Conney Island".
"Lost Star", the EP's title track, constantly pursues that dreamy feeling proposed in the first track, although it escapes into a much more organic but equally psychedelic terrain.
The EP takes a break and lowers the tempo a little with "The Becoming", taking it towards areas where "the ambient" is the protagonist, how proud Brian Eno would be about it. Closing the EP "Club Love", pure balearica-psychodelia.
