WUT_Cast #48 fej:tal

Meet Fej:tal (Julie), a Newcomer DJ from Munich with German and US-American roots. Following a two-month stint in Berlin while the clubs reopen during the Corona Pandemic, she kicked off her DJ journey with a WUT Workshop in May 2022.

Embracing a fusion of driving beats and unconventional sounds, she adeptly blends them with monotonous baselines to create a sonic journey that transports you through time. Fej:tal loves repetitive, interesting sounds and though layering various melodic elements manages to break through the initial pattern not only creating more depth in her sound but also making room for a mesmerizing yet unpredictable auditory excursion. Percussions and kicks give her sound the driving elements for a controlled chaos putting the dancefloor into a trance-like state. Her experimental approach serves as an analogy to navigating her experiences with depression.
