Rafa Pineda

Rafa Pineda steady presence in techno's Montreal scene over last years has helped establish him as a remarkable Dj and producer on underground dance floors between Mexico and Canada.

Cofounder of 8day collective and working on Grrreat Recordings, Rafa has been playing alongside numerous international artists in the past years. Very engaged in the local scene, playing frequently in venues as Le Salon Daome, Newspeak, La SAT, Stereo Night Club, and festivals such as Eclipse Canada, Piknic Électronik, Radiance Mexico, Illusion, Totem, La Tierra Prometida Mexico, Timeless & Earthdance to name a few.

Born in Mexico and now established in Montreal, Rafa is expanding his profile with his new live project, Paradigme, a project in collaboration with his good friend Maudite Machine.

2018 is definitely a year when Rafa Pineda's projects, gigs and releases will grow. Always trying to respect and follow his own style, he is definitely an artist to follow closely.

PARADIGME

Paradigme is a duo project formed by Rafa Pineda and Michael Sanchez, also known as Maudite Machine. They are co-founders of 8day Montreal. A collective that specializes in transmitting, promoting and organizing avant-garde electronic music events, selected by passionate artists and creative minds.

At the end of 2017, after sharing ideas and working together in 8 days, Rafa Pineda and Maudite Machine decided to create a new musical project using analog and digital tools such as Analog, Analog Rhythm, Octatrack and semi-modular like 0-Cast, In this way, they create paradigms.

Its 100% original and organic sounds offer a hypnotic, powerful and avant-garde experience, envelops the audience from beginning to end. His musical style focuses on industrial technology with experimental touches. The new project was quickly installed in the Montreal underground scene and in just one year they have already made appearances in 3 festivals and numerous events. Paradigme aims to present sounds outside of Canada, interact with new artists, share ideas, innovate and expand their musical horizons.

Rafa Pineda (Mexico) is currently one dj of Montreal's underground techno scene. In recent years it has been published several times in places such as The Society of Technical Arts, Stereo, News, Le Salon Daomé, Entrepôts Dominion, Bloc 66 and national and international festivals such as Piknic Électronik, Eclipse Festival, Totem Festival, Radiance Festival, and timeless. He has shared the stage with artists like Stephan Bodzin, ANNA, Oliver Huntemann, Max Cooper, D-Nox, Reinier Zonneveld to name a few.

On the other hand Maudite Machine (France) is a dj / producer already recognized in his country, thanks to his presentations at the Techno Parade in Paris and Piknic Électronik Nantes where we shared the stage with Carl Craig, Van Did and Arno Gonzalez, doing the win Great notoriety with his alias Locomote. Now Installed in Montreal for 9 years Maudite Machine is a versatile artist with a lot of influence and excellent reputation in the electronic scene of the city.

Both create an explosive combination.
