Introspectre [Full EP] by Bassfly Dubstep

I haven't produced as much music this year, as I have in the past few years, but that's OK: I've been working on lore for the fantasy series I've been dreaming about writing for a very long time.

This EP was written a few years ago (2021/2022). I had worked to try to get it released on a label, but nothing ever really aligned for it. My skills have increased since that time, so I didn't think it was fair to try to put this out when there are better songs on the horizon. (In fact, I was a bit embarrassed by it...)

But, I also don't think it's fair for complete ideas to never see the light of day. The ideas presented here are from my brooding in some of the darkest days of my life, during COVID. The feelings are mostly of despair and grief. Also, I tried to emulate the "Milton Cleans" tone made famous by Tesseract, as I really enjoyed their take on ambient guitar, and still like to pepper it in my music where I can.

By releasing this to the world, I am checking off a box from my bucket list that I've meant to for a long time. It's experimental, and largely unmastered (and poorly mixed), but I'm still proud of it. It paved the way for the sound that I've been embracing since last year.
