Is This Love by Malou Beauvoir published on 2015-08-25T17:55:40Z It was a sunny day in July, when I entered Avatar studios in NY for our first day of recording. Andy Ezrin and I had spent so much time working on the songs. We felt that it had all finally come together But life is never like that, is it? As we started to run through the songs with the musicians, the music took over and the songs came to life in their own unique way. Ballads morphed in uptempo tunes , others like the Haitian song, Papa Damballah and my song, Is this love, were performed as if the band had always played them. This is a very special album for me… recording in NY for the first time, with great musicians .. in a mythical studio. As with anything worth doing, there is always personal growth and sometimes growing a lot means losing a little…of who you were and where you started from. I thank my spirits for this journey which is just beginning!
