De Lo Mio Mix by Srebbie/Zeo Night published on 2023-11-02T16:06:32Z De Lo Mio is a music mix meant to go along with the body of work “Who I am, Quienes Somos” made by Bryan Fernandez for “Open Call”. This was made possible by the collaboration of CUNY DSI and Dominican American producer/DJ Ethan Adrian Srebnick Mejía. This mix is meant for both enjoyment as well as to give the listener accessibility to a discography that at times is not found on digital platforms as is truly representative of what La Republica Dominicana has to offer sonically. The following statement is made by my lead collaborator and friend, Ethan Adrian Srebnick Mejia. “Welcome to de lo mío curated by me, Ethan Adrian Srebnick Mejia. I am a Dominican American producer/DJ born and raised in the Bronx. My mother immigrated to the United States from Higüey. As a student at the City College of New York, I was a member of the Dominican Student Association. Being a part of this club on campus led me to the opportunity to volunteer with the Dominican Studies Institute from which some of this music can be found. As you listen you will hear a journey through the sound of the Dominican artists that created this music and the genres they represent. Some familiar and some you may have never heard of. As you listen you will notice that the lyrics have been taken out of these songs. The purpose is to emphasize the sounds and instrumentation that comes from our culture. Take being Dominican with great pride, a rich diverse culture and a community that feels like family. Te amo RD!” Tracklist 1.
