I had saved up 2k from the pizza shop to record this album with the incredible Todd Hannigan at his studio in Ojai, CA. I slept on the floor of the studio over the course of a week while we recorded this. Josh Grange, who’s played with everyone from KD Lang to Sheryl Crowd, Dixie Chicks, Beck, played slide on this record. Fun fact: Josh has played on every one of my records since then! I used to sell this CD at the pizza shop I worked at. One day it was bought by a regular, who then brought it to the booking agent at our local music venue The Belly Up, and that is how I got my first show at the venue. This CD also got passed along through Jack Johnson, to G. Love & Special Sauces manager who was at the time looking for a support artist for an upcoming tour, thus leading to one of my first tours opening for G. Love as well as getting picked up by his management: Philadelphonic. Jason Brown, was a huge part of helping me grow my career, at such a pivotal early time in my career. A year later I signed a record deal with Virgin Records, my first major label.
