Almond Groves by Hannah Selin published on 2023-05-31T15:17:39Z Almond Groves for chamber orchestra (2nd edition) Recorded on 27 May 2023 by the Temple Composers' Orchestra Conducted by Sepehr Pirasteh About the piece: Farms, orchards, sky and mountains whirl as a train slices through California's Central Valley. Sitting by the window, you take in endless rows of almond trees stretching back toward the hazy horizon. The rows are perpendicular to the train, and the open, grassy channels between them reveal slices of a more distant scene. From time to time, the rhythm of rows opening and closing immediately next to the window is superimposed upon the rhythm of a more distant orchard, whose rows open and close at a different rate. Genre Classical Comment by Damon Peterson What a cool vibe! Love the harmonic ideas here! 2024-04-18T02:01:28Z
