“Tadhana,” destiny in Tagalog, is my first Tagalog song.
Backstory:
The inspiration for this song stems from the fact that certain people believe that they are where they're at because of destiny.
And of course, if your life worked out the way you've planned, then you might agree that it was destined to be. However, if you did all that you could and still haven't reaped the rewards you expected, then you do not (should not) agree that you were destined to be in that predicament.
It's a light-hearted song with a pinch of humor. Please enjoy this song my fellow Filipinos. 😊

Destiny
By Dex Alvaro
When I was young, only a child
I never knew we’d be together
Truth is, I don’t even know you
Never thought of you, recognize you
Destiny, I heard you’re my father’s friend
Destiny, why is my mother mad at you?
Destiny, when are you leaving my life?
Destiny, I know my destination
Oh, Destiny, I’ve had enough of you, Oh, Destiny
Destiny, leave me alone, Destiny
Mother said, “Oh, child, it is good to dream.”
Father said, “With hard work, you could reach the sky.”
I suffered and persevered, but Destiny blocked my path
Destiny crushed my dream, humbled me
Destiny, I heard you’re my father’s friend
Destiny, why is my mother mad at you?
Destiny, when are you leaving my life?
Destiny, I know my destination
Now that my eyes are wide open
I don’t want to listen to your whispers
I know myself, Destiny, please leave me alone
Goodbye, Destiny, my destination is within my reach
Destiny, I’m sick and tired of you
Destiny, get out of my life
Destiny, I know who I am
Destiny, goodbye, Destiny
