Secret Soul Society - Late Nites by Paper Recordings

The most prolific music maker in the UK (trust us, it’s a fact!) is back at Paper with another serious selection of chopped up & rearranged slices of dance music. Edits is such a yawn these days but when they’re done properly (and we mean properly) they come out sounding like this insanely good E.P.

Title track is a Summer infused drop of feel good house music with bags of soul & swag that will fit perfect into any warm up set & will guarantee back slaps & big grins a plenty!

Bet It’s a Groove sounds like a lost track from an educational film of the late 70’s with bleeps & bloops straight out of a Moog. Bags of psychedelic flavours for the more whacky party settings (which we all love!)

P=funk flavours ahoy on Leroy. Full on synth workout with funky as heck guitars around some mayhem sounding synths & spaced out stabs. Imagine a breakdance party with added mushrooms and you’re half way there.

Things slow down for Shivery which is a real woozy number and harks back to sounds of Lemon Jelly at their most psych. Real nice one for all those lucky enough to hold a beachside residency in hotter climates though can sound equally as good at home whilst blazing a zoot or having a cup of tea.

Work It closes off the party and is a solid slab of ‘end of the night’ vibes with a nod to Sabres Of Paradise sounding loveliness. Throbbing bassline & arp action with various mad sounds all building & building towards the lights coming on. Great finish….see you next week!
