Aliena Gerhard 3-16-25 by CHS Craftstories

Aliena and her two sons live in an historic farmhouse on Little Hosmer Pond that has changed hands a good number of times over its life. She came to Craftsbury with a background in the law, and is currently working as the State's Attorney for Lamoille County. She had to pause her career while her sons were young; she speaks here of how she approached being a full-time home schooling mom. For a number of years during Covid she signed on to be an English instructor to young - i.e. ages 5 - 12 or so - people in China, work that meant spending long nighttime hours teaching youngsters on the other side of the globe. She's doing an impressive job of taking on the challenge of being a single mom who's balancing career and parenting. We're grateful to her for being willing to sit down and record this Craftstory interview.
