Ekko is a DJ and producer from southern Germany who captivates audiences with his unique, melodic, driving, and highly danceable sound. As the founder of the underground label LAPS Recordings, Ekko blends pounding techno beats with trance-infused basslines, emotional synths, and dark, melancholic atmospheres. His style spans Melodic Techno, Peaktime, Hardtechno, Trance, and Hardtrance – always powerful, always distinctive.
Born in 1997 near Ulm, Ekko was hitting drums before he could even walk. At just four years old, he stood in front of an audience for the first time, and music has played a central role in his life ever since. Besides drums, he taught himself multiple instruments and even produced a small album using a DAW at the age of 12.
After discovering electronic music, it quickly became clear that he wanted to be behind the decks. In 2017, he played his first DJ set on a local radio show – together with the crew members who would later co-found the club Gleis 44 in Ulm with him. Ekko remains a resident DJ there to this day and played a key role in the founding of Kollektiv Schillerstraße, Gleis 44’s official resident DJ crew.
During the first COVID lockdown in 2020, Ekko began producing his own tracks. His productions are defined by heavy kick drums, trance-inspired basslines, 303 acid elements, and signature melancholic melodies. Whether in the studio or on stage, he always manages to retain a unique character that sets him apart from other peaktime techno artists.
In 2021, Ekko also launched the duo project Mind Chemistry together with Hans Pech. The two met at Gleis 44 in 2020, where they’ve been playing together regularly ever since. After their first B2B set, it was instantly clear: the synergy was undeniable. With a musical range from Melodic Techno to Peaktime, Hardtechno, and Trance, Mind Chemistry delivers an intense ride through emotion and energy – sometimes dark, sometimes euphoric, but always on point.
In 2022, they co-founded the label LAPS Recordings alongside two fellow artists and soon released their first collaborative EP. After receiving great feedback and playing successful shows across Germany, they officially launched the duo, continuing to build a strong reputation with their dynamic and genre-blending sound.
